Rohan Yoga Education

Rohan in Sanskrit means Ascending.

Rohan Yoga Education is a charity offering a Teacher's training for kids yoga and meditation and placement in state schools.

Yoga in childhood gives young people the best foundation for life. Though the exercise programme is playfully adapted to the age and circumstances of the participants, children with their ageless soul often react more profoundly to the asanas than adults do.

• Yoga, the best foundation for healthy development

• Learning by imitation

• Playful concentration exercises for better learning

• Yoga class models for various age groups

• Vegetarian diet for children

At the Self yoga practice, we created 5 basic sequences for children from the age of 5 to 14. The practice is aimed to free the children’s mind to open up their third eye and their intuition mind so that they are then able to visualise what their path is without being conditioned or bullied in any way. This will also help children with anxiety, depression and stress at school.

Us from Yoga Muni, as yogis and spiritual beings, we believe in the Kundalini energy; represented by a sleeping serpent lying at the base of the spine waiting to be awakened.

This means that everyone has the potential to arise once encouraged towards it… Which is what yoga is about: bringing one’s energy into the right place.

As kids are so lively and active, it’s important to draw that energy into productive activities. By giving them the gift of yoga at such young age – when they can learn a lot easier and practice without fear; they will be able to focus and perform better at school, improve their sports endurance and eating habits. Not to mention their self-esteem and awareness will improve, the relationship with family and friends and mostly the well-being within themselves that Yoga brings.

And this is what this project is about…

  • What is it?

Rohan Yoga Education is an NGO which aims to teach Yoga and meditation for kids aged between 6-15 years old studying in state schools around the world.

  • What about it?

It is a project from all of us guided and idealised by Dipa Trivedi, founder of Yoga Muni and mom of two young kids.

This is an online and self-taught training.

  • Who is it for?

The teacher’s training is for everyone with the desire and motivation to teach kids yoga, meditation and to be a support for their development. You don’t have to be a professional teacher – what matters the most is the will to learn and help.

  • What is involved?

A closed Facebook group among the students where you can ask, share experiences and relevant material to our community.

There will be videos of yoga sequences, meditations, and podcasts on teaching techniques which the students can learn and practice at home.

There will also be an on-site meeting and training day for those based in London.

  • How much does it cost?

All the training is provided for free as the prospective teachers should teach for free at the state schools as well.

The idea of this project is to bring together motivated and enthusiastic people to add up to our team and make a difference in such an important phase of the children’s lives.
